ATHENS - Ashley Houts had 12 points and six assists, and No. 8 Georgia held Temple scoreless over the final 4:41 to beat the Owls 57-51 on Friday night.

LaKeisha Eaddy stole a pass and went in for a breakaway layup to give Temple their only lead of the game, 51-49, with 4:41 left. But Georgia (4-0) went ahead when freshman Angela Puleo beat Temple defenders down the floor on a transition layup with 1:52 to play.

About 25 seconds later, center Angel Robinson put the Lady Dogs up 54-51. Georgia hit three free throws in the final minute to complete the scoring.

Robinson scored 11 and Gainesville's Tasha Humphrey had 10 points and 13 rebounds for Georgia.

Ashley Morris led Temple (1-1) with 21 points, 17 in the second half. Eaddy scored 11, and Lady Comfort and Shanea Cotton had 12 rebounds apiece.

Georgia bolted to a 21-7 lead, capitalizing on poor shooting by the Owls. But late in the half, The Owls used an 8-1 run to narrow the gap to 24-21 on Eaddy's layup. The Lady Dogs led 30-21 at the half after Humphrey scored her first four points of the game.

Georgia built a 45-35 lead when Robinson hit a layup with 11:16 to play in the game. Temple then went on a 14-4 run to take a 51-49, but failed to score again.
