Raiders cage the Panthers

JEFFERSON - Habersham Central won for the seventh straight time after whipping Jackson County 41-10 Friday night.<br>

Habersham Central and quarterback Bo Hatchett controlled the first half. The Raiders (8-1, 6-0 in Region 8A-AAAA) scored 28 unanswered points as Hatchett connected on TD passes of 36 and 24 to Josh Anderson and another 36-yard touchdown pass to Tavarres King. The final score of the half came on a short one-yard rush from Robert Renshaw.<br>

The Raiders went to the ground for the most part during the second-half scoring 14 points off a 3-yard and 1-yard rush from Renshaw. Hatchett finished the game 17-or-25 with 250 yards and three touchdowns, combined with 172 yards on the ground giving the Raiders 422 yards of total offense.<br>

The Panthers did not go quietly, scoring 10 points late in the second-half. Michael Kavanagh put Jackson's first points on the board with a 20-yard field goal but did not score again until Cory Williams put up six more with a short rushing touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
