FLOWERY BRANCH - It was Senior Night at Flowery Branch but it would not be the last time the senior Falcons would play at home.

Flowery Branch pounded Johnson 42-13 at Falcons Field behind senior quarterback Jaybo Shaw. The Falcons' win, combined with a 40-14 Gainesville win over West Hall Friday, handed the Falcons the 7B-AAA subregion title.

Jaybo Shaw tossed four touchdown passes, three to Tracy Sikes and one to brother Connor Shaw. The other two Flowery Branch touchdowns came on a 2-yard run by Darius Kimbrough and a 15-yard scoring run by place kicker Kyle Ellis on a fake field goal attempt.

Jaybo finished the night 16-of-21 passing for 233 yards. However, his usual solid night of running the ball never materialized. The Knights held him to only eight yards rushing thanks to a fast and swarming run defense.

For all the things Johnson did right in defending the run, their offense was the complete opposite. The Knights could muster only 163 yards total offense, 80 of which came on a 17 play scoring drive in the fourth quarter. The other Johnson score came on a fumble return for a touchdown late in the fourth.

The Falcons (8-1, 3-0) will conclude their regular season at West Hall next Friday. Johnson (3-6, 1-2) will finish at home against Pickens.
