Forsyth Co. stiffens water use violation penalties

CUMMING - Beginning today, violators of Forsyth County's water ban will face some stiffer hits to the pocketbook.

The new penalties call for a $100 fine for the first offense. A second offense will result in a $1,000 fine, plus a disconnection of water service, with a $25 reconnect fee. A third offense will result in a $1,000 fine; removal of the water meter; a $500 reconnect fee; and no less than two days in jail.
