Woman found dead in Gwinnett County house fire

<p>Police have arrested a 39-year-old Lawrenceville man in the death of a woman who was found dead in a home that had caught fire.</p><p>The man, identified by authorities as David Norton, was arrested early Wednesday at a motel in Norcross.</p><p>Gwinnett County Fire Department spokesman Lt. Thomas Rutledge said the home received extensive damage Tuesday to the second floor, where the woman's body was found. He said she suffered at least one gunshot wound, but the official cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.</p><p>Rutledge said two teenage boys who live in the home opened the front door Tuesday and were met with a thick cloud of smoke. The boys fled and called 911 at 2:50 p.m.</p><p>Firefighters found heavy smoke from the back of the house upon arrival but quickly had the fire under control.</p><p>The woman's name was not immediately released.</p>
