ATLANTA (AP) A worker for a subcontracter at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been fired for hanging a noose.

The senior public releations manager at the airport, Keenan Conigland, said today, ``We requested that the person be removed from all job related activity here at the airport and they complied.''

Other workers discovered the noose Tuesday at a work site. Airport spokesman Herschel Grangent said the man worked for a subcontractor that had been hired by the contractor on the project, Archer Western Contractors.

Conigland said today he did not have the man's name. The airport was told of the firing at a meeting yesterday.

Conigland said, ``We are just being diligent and making sure that there are no further developments along this line.''
