TAYLORSVILLE, Ill. - A five-count indictment has been returned in Taylorsville, Ill., in the death of a soldier from northeast Georgia.

Kevin Thornton, 24, of Witt, Ill., is charged with stabbing John A. Burkett, Jr., 29, of Habersham County on Dec. 9, outside a Wal-Mart in central Illinois.

Authorities say the motive was a lover's triangle. They say Burkett was romantically involved with Thornton's wife.

Both men were in the Army and had served together in Germany.

Thornton is to be arraigned February 1 after being indicted on first degree murder charges.
