Five charged in contracted killing of 22-year-old woman

<p>Authorities say a Louisville, Ga., man hired a four men to kill his daughter-in-law six years ago because she was not Indian.</p><p>Chiman Rai, 67, allegedly paid $10,000 to rid his family of 22-year-old Sparkle Michelle Rai in April 2000.</p><p>She was found in her apartment by her husband, Ricky, strangled and stabbed to death. At the time, she was with her 7-month-old daughter, who was unharmed.</p><p>Investigators say Chiman Rai hired brothers Cleveland Clark, 49, and Carl Clark, 43 _ who are both now serving time in a Mississippi prison for armed robbery _ along with Willie Fred Evans, 74, of Louisville, and Herbert Green, 60, of Louisville.</p><p>The murder investigation was stalled for four years until two witnesses came forward in 2004 and identified the alleged killer as Cleveland Clark.</p><p>The men are charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, burglary, possession of a firearm and knife during the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit crime.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9ab4)</p>
