FLOWERY BRANCH - A Flowery Branch High School student is recovering at home after being hit by a car while waiting for his school bus Friday morning.

It happened on Christy Lane, according to Hall County School System spokesman Gordon Higgins.

"He does have considerable bruising and cuts but his father does expect him to be back at school [next week]."

Higgins said he was told investigators are considering charges against the driver of the car.

Sgt. Kiley Sargent of the Hall County Sheriff's Office said "the report indicates that the [15-year-old] student was standing in the roadway near the bus stop [about 7:55] as a Chevrolet Malibu driven by Lloyd Ash age 19 of Flowery Branch turned off Spout Springs onto Christy Lane and struck the student."

Sgt. Sargent said the boy was knocked down, receiving minor injuries. "He was transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center by Hall County EMS for treatment."

Ash was cited for traveling too fast for conditions, according to the officer.
