Chargers shutout Raiders, 27-0

OAKLAND, Calif. - The San Diego Chargers used a swarming defense to hound Aaron Brooks and beat the Oakland Raiders 27-to-0.<br> <br> The Chargers had nine sacks and held Brooks to 68 passing yards in his first game as a Raider. Shawne Merriman led the Chargers with six tackles, including a team-high three sacks.<br> <br> LaDainian Tomlinson rushed for over 100 yards in the first half and finished with 131 yards and a touchdown. Tomlinson scored the Chargers&#39; first touchdown on a one-yard burst and ripped off a 58-yard run in the opening half.<br> <br> Phillip Rivers found Antonio Gates for a four-yard T-D in the fourth quarter to make it 20-to-0. Rivers was 8-of-11 for 108 yards in his first N-F-L start.<br> <br> Raiders running back Lamont Jordan ran for just 20 yards on ten carries.<br> <br> The Chargers allowed only 129 total net yards in shutting out the Raiders for the first time since 1961.<br> <br> (Copyright 2006 by The Associated Press.
