Bluelinx buys Texas-based lumber distributor

<p>Bluelinx Holdings Inc., an Atlanta-based construction products distributor, said Wednesday it has bought Texas-based Austin Hardwoods for an undisclosed amount.</p><p>Privately held Austin Hardwoods, based in Austin, Texas, distributes hardwood lumber. Bluelinx said the acquisition will give it a total of 10 facilities in Texas and expand its position in the Southwest. Austin Hardwoods had 2005 sales of more than $22 million.</p><p>Bluelinx said it will keep Austin Hardwoods' brand name and current employees.</p><p>Shares of Bluelinx fell 26 cents, or 2.4 percent, to $10.61 on the New York Stock Exchange in morning trading.</p>
