GAINESVILLE - The price of gasoline in Gainesville has slipped below two-eighty a gallon ...but you still have to do some looking.

Early Thursday one outlet was selling regular, unleaded for $2.79, the other for $2.77.

Just two and a half weeks ago, at the time of the last accessnorthga.com survey, the average was just four cents shy of $3.00 a gallon.

The cheapest and the most expensive gasoline in northeast Georgia is in Toccoa, according to georgiagasprices.com. Two outlets there have it for $2.66, but it's as high as $3.00 at two others.
