DAHLONEGA - Instead of a summer of "fun in the sun" before their college careers start, a group of incoming freshmen at North Georgia College & State University are getting an early taste of college life.

The Summer Transition Program at North Georgia provides students a head start on higher education, physical training and an introduction to the Corps of Cadets.

The 56 students in the program take six hours of classes.

Other cadet freshmen are schedule to report August 15th.
