CUMMING - Keep Forsyth County Beautiful (KFCB) and the Forsyth County Code Enforcement Department are seeking individuals, civic groups and businesses to join them in a program called Partners Against Litter (PAL).

This new program is an opportunity for the community to come together to combat litter and illegal dumping and help keep the neighborhoods, city and county clean.

There are many illegal dump sites in Forsyth County and it is sometimes difficult for residents and property owners to fix the issues themselves without outside assistance. The combined efforts of KFCB, the Forsyth County Code Enforcement Department and PAL. will help lead the way toward a cleaner community.

In order to accomplish this goal, Code Enforcement will identify the problem areas within the county and KFCB will organize clean-up days for volunteers and members of PAL; Code Enforcement will continue to monitor these areas to prevent reoccurrences.

Forsyth County is not the only area facing the issues of litter and illegal dumping. In 2004, the Georgia Department of Transportation spent $14,000,000 to remove roadside litter and the Georgia Legislature recently passed the Comprehensive Litter Prevention and Abatement Act of 2006 making litter and illegal dumping a more serious issue.
