Georgia coach Andy Landers said ,``This is very exciting for Georgia basketball. Traditionally, when I say Georgia basketball I mean the university. However, in this instance I think it's extremely exciting for the entire state of Georgia. It's a tremendous opportunity for us to help bring part of the N-C-A-A tournament to an area that embraces women's basketball.''
Georgia has played regular-season games at the Gwinnett Center the last two years as part of the Russell Athletic Shootout, a Chick-Fil-A Bowl event.
The venue will host the 2007 S-E-C women's tournament beginning March first.
