PITTSBURGH - Major League Baseball is expected to announce a deal with Atlanta-based TBS today for the network to televise games not involving the Atlanta Braves for the first time. The agreement is expected to include rights to division series playoff games.

TBS founder Ted Turner began programming Braves games across the nation on his fledgling cable superstation in the 1970s. But TBS has scaled back its number of national Braves telecasts, from 150 at the peak.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported today that the new agreement with Major League Baseball is not expected to affect the 70 Braves games scheduled to be shown on TB-S next season.

The station is available in about 90 million homes.
