Gun involved in Toronto murder bought in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - A gun used in what police say was an ambush slaying outside a Canadian bar was sold at a store in Hall County.

According to a Toronto newspaper, a 27-year-old woman and her 32-year-old boyfriend were gunned down outside a Toronto bar last week. The woman was killed; the man survived his wounds.

The gun that was used in the shooting was recovered not far from the crime and with the help of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, police traced it back to a sale in a sporting-goods store in Gainesville.
