Senate runoff candidates off and running already

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville men headed toward an August 8 runoff for state Senate were out early Wednesday, greeting breakfast clubbers around town.

At one point, both Lee Hawkins and Mark Musselwhite were spotted at Longstreet Cafe - sitting at opposite ends of the same table.

Both also conducted early morning radio interviews.

They finished in almost a dead-heat Tuesday night.
