TOCCOA - A northeast Georgia man with a history of six DUI and 13 counts of being a habitual violator has been arrested again.

Toccoa Police Captain Butch Newkirk says 42-year-old Steve Savage of Eastanollee now faces multiple new charges following a chase June fourth.

Police charged Savage with driving under the influence, fleeing/eluding, aggravated assault with a minor vehicle, speeding, felony with a vehicle and reckless driving.

The chase ended south of Toccoa in Stephens County.

A South Carolina newspaper -- the Anderson Independent-Mail -- reports that state records show between 1983 and 2005, Savage was convicted 30 times and served about 12 years out of an ordered 70 years. Between 1983 and 2001, Savage was incarcerated eight times -- serving almost eleven years.

State records show Savage was released from prison in March 2005, after serving eleven months of a three-year sentence for being a habitual violator in Franklin County.

The newspaper reports that his 30 convictions include three counts of burglary, nine motor vehicle violations, six DUIs and eleven counts of being a habitual violator in Stephens County. Savage also was convicted of being a habitual violator in Habersham County.
