Husband of Duke women's coach hired at Georgia Tech

<p>Georgia Tech has hired Mark Simons as an assistant coach for its women's basketball team.</p><p>That means he will be coaching against his wife, Gail Goestenkors, women's basketball coach at Duke. It also means he will be trying to help the Yellow Jackets snap a 26-game losing streak against the Blue Devils.</p><p>Simons also gets to move closer to the couple's home in Hillsborough, N.C.</p><p>Simons was an assistant for the Auburn women's team during the 2006 spring semester. He previously had been the men's head basketball coach at Elon. He resigned in 2003, after 10 seasons.</p><p>Georgia Tech plays at Duke and North Carolina next season.</p>
