GAINESVILLE - Candidates for Superior Court judgeships in Georgia - including two serving Hall and Dawson counties - will have to wait until summer to qualify for this year's elections.

Beginning this year, those elections will be held in November instead of during the primaries.

The posts now held by Jason Deal and C. Andrew Fuller of the Northeastern Judicial Circuit will be on the ballot.

Hall County Elections Director Anne Phillips Lea says the state Legislature changed the law to specify that non-partisan races, such as those for judgeships, be held on General Election day instead of during the party primaries.
