Eight Carroll County Deputies and one juvenile were camping on public property near Cooper's Creek when two men approached them, "Apparently, they were unhappy that somebody else was camping there and wanted them to move," Agent Mike Clayton with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Agent Clayton says James Gilreath and DeWayne Moose came back a second time later that same night and drove thru the campsite, "Shots were fired from Gilreath and Moose and several of the Carroll County Deputies."
The two men face nine counts of aggravated assault and are being held in the Union County jail.
There were no injuries.
