ATLANTA - Seth Marler, still listed on the Atlanta Falcons' Web site depth chart as the No. 1 kicker, has been released, a team spokesman confirmed Friday.

Marler, from Parkview High School, was the only kicker on the Falcons' roster with NFL experience. Marler made 20 of 33 field goals for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2003. He was out of the league the last two years.

The Falcons have not re-signed Todd Peterson, who made 23 of 25 field goal attempts last season. Peterson, a free agent, has not been signed by another team.

Falcons punter Michael Koenen was used on kickoffs last season and also was an option on long field goals. He made one of two attempts.

Ryan Rossner of Stephen F. Austin is listed behind Marler on the depth chart. Rossner originally signed with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent last year, and he was cut before training camp.
