Lumpkin murder trial begins Monday

DAHLONEGA - A Lumpkin County man goes on trial Monday for murder in the death of his wife two years ago.

David Muller, 56, of Dahlonega says he acted in self-defense when Cynthia Schmidt ,42, was shot to death in February 2004.

Muller says Schmidt shot at him twice at their Dahlonega home and that he used another gun to fire back. Investigators say Schmidt was hit once in the abdomen.
