"D.O.T. engineers will be on hand to show you (the public) the plans, to answer your questions and most importantly to get your ideas on the project," said GDOT spokeswoman Teri Pope said.
The Public Information Open House will begin at 5:00 on April 27 at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center. It will last for two hours.
The bridge is located near Clarks Bridge Park and crosses Lake Lanier within sight of the Olympic center.
Pope said among the changes that will be made are both widening the bridge to include emergency lanes and raising the bridge to make it easier for boats to pass underneath it. There are also plans to add a pedestrian bridge underneath the span for fans who might be watching rowing and canoe/kayak competitions.
