Harris County drug bust linked to large seizure last year

<p>Police said Wednesday that the seizure of more than $5.5 million worth of cocaine and about $140,000 in cash in Harris County is linked to a $37 million bust in Columbus in May.</p><p>Cortez Johnson, 28, of West Point was arrested Tuesday driving a Mercedes Benz that Metro Narcotics Task Force investigators said contained 120 pounds of cocaine, at least 53 grams of crack cocaine and almost half a pound of marijuana.</p><p>Harris County Sheriff Mike Jolley said Wednesday that Johnson was charged with trafficking in cocaine and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was held without bond in the county jail.</p><p>Jolley said Johnson and Torrance Hill of Columbus, who arrested in May and also on Tuesday, were part of a "large drug group" working throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.</p><p>___</p><p>HASH(0x1cd9bf4)</p>
