<p>Elton Nesbitt scored 31 points, including 10 of 10 free throws, to lead Georgia Southern to a 96-68 victory over The Citadel Saturday night, elevating the Eagles to the top of the Southern Conference South Division.</p><p>GSU (17-7, 8-3) bolted to a 42-14 lead in the first half before Citadel closed the half with a 16-9 run to cut the intermission deficit to 51-30.</p><p>Mel Everhart and Dante Terry each had 13 points to lead the Bulldogs.</p><p>Will Dunn had a double-double for the Eagles with 11 points and 14 rebounds, while Donte Gennie and Jimmy Tobias each added 11 points.</p><p>Both Southern and Elon, the North leader, have 8-3 conference records.</p>
