Authorities try to determine cause of student's death

<p>Authorities expect to know later this week what caused the death of a freshman from Athens found dead in her dormitory room at Piedmont College in northeast Georgia.</p><p>Officials at the small liberal arts college say they DO not suspect foul play in the death of Cierra Howell. School spokesman David Price says a campus police officer found her body in her dorm room at Getman-Babcock Hall early Friday.</p><p>Police say she had been with friends the night before.</p><p>The college is located in Demorest about 20 minutes from Gainesville. About 400 of the two-thousand students who attend the college live on campus.</p><p>The school issued a statement calling Howell a -- quote -- "very popular young lady, a fine student and a member of the dance team `Steppers.'"</p>
