"With sales surpassing one million units sold in the United States, we anticipate continued growth in Kubota tractor and product sales," said Daisuke Hatakake, President of Kubota Corporation. "Kubota Industrial Equipment, our newest manufacturing plant, will help us meet increasing dealer and customer demands for high quality Kubota products."
An open house was also held for the 400,000-square-foot complex.
Kubota Industrial Equipment Vice President Dan Ferris said the plant is expected to produce about 70,000 tractor implements annually when fully operational with 500 employees near the Dry Pond Road exit on I-85.
"We do final tractor assembly of tractors that are built in Japan," Ferris said.
Ferris said the plant opened last October with new equipment and production training with mass production beginning in November.
Plant president Hank Kawasaki said "Kubota tractor business has grown significantly in the U.S. since the establishment in 1988 of Kubota Manufacturing America in Gainesville."
