The Board of Trustees now totals 17 members with these two new appointments.
Mr. Conboy is a partner with the Atlanta office of international law firm, Paul Hastings. His practice includes cash-flow lending, asset-based lending, the financing of leveraged buyouts, and representation of banks and other financial institutions lending to cable television, radio, cellular and other technology and communications media. He is an author of a number of law review articles pertaining to foreign investment in the U.S. and is a frequent speaker to financial services audiences.
He began his law career as a law clerk for the Honorable Marvin H. Shoob, U.S. District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia. Early in his career, Mr. Conboy also served as a deputy headmaster and teacher at a secondary school in rural Kenya in East Africa. He holds a bachelor's degree from LeMoyne College and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law.
Dr. Rossiter is a long-time member of Savannah's medical community, serving on the staffs of all three hospitals and as a pediatric consultant at Georgia Regional Hospital, Savannah. At Memorial Health University Medical Center, he played an extremely active role serving on both the Board of Directors and the Provident Board. Dr. Rossiter also served on the Backus Children's Hospital Advisory Board, the Ethics Committee, and was the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee and Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics. He retired from his medical practice in June 2003.
In addition, Dr. Rossiter served more than 29 years of military service and retired in 2000. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during his nine years of active duty military service and subsequently served 20 years in the Georgia Army National Guard, the last 15 years as a Colonel. At the time of retirement, he was honored with the rank of Brigadier General. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and a Doctor of Medicine from Medical College of Georgia.
