GAINESVILLE - Ground will be broken this week for two South Hall facilities to be built by Hall County government and funded by revenues from a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

As AccessNorthGa.com first reported a few weeks ago, groundbreaking for the new library on Spout Springs Road will be held at 3:00 in front of the Sterling on the Lake community.

Ceremonies marking the beginning of construction on the Field of Dreams for physically challenged athletes will take place Friday at 12:00 at Alberta Banks Park.

One other "ceremony" on the county's agenda this week is a reception for outgoing District 1 Commissioner Deborah Lynn. It will be held Thursday in the Georgia Mountains Center Atrium prior to the 5:00 county commission meeting.
