GAINESVILLE - The race for the state House seat now held by Carl Rogers continues to be the most expensive of any on the General Election ballot in Hall County with the election less than a week away.

Rogers, a Republican, reports spending a total of $124,000 so far; Lydia Sartain, the Democrat, shows expenditures of $47,000.

On the other side of the ledger, Rogers reports contributions of $184,000 and Sartain, $53,000.

Those figures come from their Nov. 1 Campaign Contributions Disclosure reports and include activity from two reporting periods.

In the race for the state Senate seat being vacated by Casey Cagle, Republican Lee Hawkins reports spending $76,000 in his race against Democrat Arturo Corso. Corso says he has spent $8,200. Hawkins reports contributions of $79,000 over the past two reporting periods; Corso, $10,200.
