Site under consideration for new Forsyth jail

CUMMING - The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners are considering the acquisition of property adjacent to Eagle Point Landfill for the development of a new detention facility.
A letter of intent has been executed between Forsyth County and Eagle Point Landfill LLC for the property.
The extension of county sewer to Eagle Point Landfill would be a part of the proposed transaction.
The proposed land acquisition is not currently scheduled to be addressed at the December Board of Commissioners meeting.
