New school calendars proposed

GAINESVILLE - The current school year is not even half over and already the Gainesville school board is looking ahead - to the school calendars for the next two years.

Each proposal calls for school to again start in early August - on Thursday the 9th next year and Thursday, the 7th, a year later.

Both scenarios have the school year ending in late May - with the usual holiday breaks and early release dates.

And, speaking of breaks: Tuesday will be last day of classes in both the Gainesville and Hall County school systems this week. Classes will resume on Monday following a break for Thanksgiving.
