GAINESVILLE - Employees at the Kubota Manufacturing Plant in Gainesville were evacuated for a short time Wednesday afternoon because of a small fire.

Battalion Chief Clint Miller with the Gainesville Fire Department says there was a lot of smoke in the building when firefighters arrived, "But it was basically confined to this filter machine which burned up some filters in it and caused a little bit of damage to the filter machine."

Damage is estimated at $10 thousand.

The Hall County Fire Department also responded.
