NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The NFL has suspended Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth without pay for what it calls flagrant unnecessary roughness.<br>

Haynesworth stomped on the head of Dallas Cowboy center Andre Gurode (GUH'-rohd) after a play in which Gurode lost his helmet. It happened early in the third quarter after a Dallas touchdown. Gurode was on the ground after the play and Haynesworth stood over him and dug his foot into the center's face. Gurode needed stitches to close the wound.<br>

Haynesworth apologized during an interview immediately following the game. He called his actions ``disgusting.''<br>

At his news conference today, Titans coach Jeff Fisher also apologized and complimented the Dallas Cowboys for keeping their poise after the incident.
