Two Gainesville stations among latest fined for gas gouging

ATLANTA - Fifteen more gas stations in Georgia - including two in Gainesville - have been fined for jacking up their prices in the wake of Hurricane Katrina last summer.

Bill Cloud with the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs Wednesday announced a total of 51 more settlements.

In addition to two in Gainesville, two in Cumming and Bethlehem, and one each in Toccoa and Sugar Hill are on the updated list.

Cloud says another 35 stations still face fines or restitution.

According to the Web site for the Governor's Office of Consumer Affairs, the recent settlements include the following gas stations in northeast Georgia:

Black Mountain Express, LLC d/b/a Black Mountain Express, 3032 Falls Rd., Toccoa, Georgia 30577 - $ 2,500.00

Tadmore Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a Tadmore Food Mart, 3008 Gillesville Highway, Gainesville, Georgia 30507 - $1,000.00

JAK Group, Inc. d/b/a Lake Food Mart, 725 Lanier 400 Parkway, Cumming, Georgia - $500.00

Al Rehman and Dura, LLC d/b/a Trotter's Old Place Store, 3320 Cleveland Highway, Gainesville, Georgia 30506
