LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) With their season opener behind them, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln football team practiced for two-and-a-half hours in Memorial Stadium on Tuesday to prepare for Saturday's game against Wake Forest.
Offensive coordinator Jay Norvell said the offense was disappointed with its performance, even though Nebraska beat Maine on Saturday 25-7. But the team will move forward, he said.
``Our guys have rededicated themselves to come out this week and improve on what we learned from last week and last week's game,'' Norvell said. ``That's really it. We have got to me more aggressive in every way, up front, at our skill positions and we've got to be more defined at the quarterback position.''
But defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove said he was pleased with the performance of Nebraska's Blackshirt defense. The Huskers showed improvement in every area, he said, citing their ability to pressure the quarterback.
``We have to build on that and we have to continue to improve,'' he said.
The Huskers plan to practice again on Wednesday.
