According to the Norton Native Intelligence Market Watch, the city
commission voted 4-0 for the moratorium at the request of the city
planning board.
The action was taken to give city officials time to adopt a
new comprehensive zoning ordinance and new subdivision and land
development regulations.
The resolution adopted by the commission says it affects "applications for annexation, zoning, rezoning, variances and subdivision plat and plan approval in and/or for residential zones and the issuance of municipal building permits for a period of 60 days."
