DURHAM, N.C. (AP) Charles Futrell ran for one touchdown and threw for a second as N.C. Central beat Bowie State 38-19 on Saturday.<br>

N.C. Central (5-0, 2-0) never trailed and got scores from six different players. Brad Alston opened the scoring for the Eagles on a 54-yard punt return less than four minutes into the game.<br>

Futrell scored in the second quarter on a one-yard run. His touchdown pass was a 21-yard throw to Toryeon Hester in the fourth quarter.<br>

Brandon Gilbert scored for the Eagles on a 42-yard field goal.<br>
<br>
Glenn Thomas scored three times for Bowie State (4-1, 1-1), catching a 70-yard pass from Lamar Manigo in the second quarter and a 34-yard pass from Manigo in the first quarter.<br>
