Rapper charged in 1997 killing

<p>Eight years ago, 28-year-old Stacy Thomas was found with a bullet lodged in her chest as she lay dying in a car parked across the street from her home.</p><p>On Thursday, the Sylvester Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced they had finally named a suspect in the killing.</p><p>25-year-old Courtney Dawone Jackson, a rapper who goes by the name "Two Brain," will face charges in the beautician's killing. He has been held in the Dougherty County Jail since December on a separate murder and burglary charge, said Sylvester Police Chief Tony Strenth.</p><p>The charges were brought after Thomas' brother, Charles Thomas, received an anonymous letter last month naming Jackson as the killer.</p><p>Charles Thomas said he passed the letter onto authorities, who soon found new witnesses willing to testify.</p><p>"We're real happy with the outcome," Strenth said.
