BUFORD - The Lake Lanier Association plans a strong showing Tuesday at a hearing in Atlanta on sewage treatment plant discharges into Lanier and other bodies of water in the state.

The hearing will be hosted by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.

The Lanier group says Georgia's waters are in danger of being degraded to the point where they will not meet the criteria for their designated use.

The meeting is the first of four planned between now and late September, when the state Department of Natural Resources Board of Directors is expected to vote on the changes.
