Habersham team falls in 1st game of World Series

BANGOR, MAINE - The Habersham County team playing in the Senior Little League World Series came up short in its first game - losing Monday to Hawaii.

The score was 6-3.

Habersham was led at the plate by shortstop Ismael Garza, who was 2-for-3 and catcher Michael Lewallen, who was also 2-for-3. Ryne Acosta, Kellen Ushijima and Shannon Liu paced Hawaii with two hits each.

Jesse Holden started on the mound for Habersham and went four innings, before giving way to Ranger Jackson and Cooper Boydstan.

Shannon Liu went the distance for Hawaii.

The Habersham team (Georgia USS) will now play Guam Tuesday afternoon at 5:00.
