Orgeron pleased with Rebels' third preseason scrimmage

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) The Mississippi offense found its groove, and the defense discovered its spirit, during the Rebels&#39; third scrimmage of the preseason Saturday.<br> <br> Micheal Spurlock threw for 140 yards and Jamal Pittman and Antonio Turner each rushed for touchdowns in the scrimmage.<br> <br> ``We were more in sync with everything, especially on offense,&#39;&#39; coach Ed Orgeron said. ``The plays were coming in on time. On defense, we played with more emotion, and that&#39;s what I want to be able to do.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Spurlock was 12-of-21 passing and rushed for 31 yards. Robert Lane was 8-of-14 for 55 yards, and Ethan Flatt was 6-of-10 for 83 yards.<br> <br> Pittman led all rushers with 72 yards.<br> <br> Burnell Wallace and Mike Espy each had six catches for 59 yards.<br> <br> ``They got the defense on its heels in the second half and really competed,&#39;&#39; Orgeron said. ``Micheal made some good plays on third down.&#39;&#39;<br> <br> Will Moseley hit a 52-yard field goal and Matt Hinkle converted from 39 yards out.<br> <br> Two linebackers dominated on defense.
