Defensive back suspended for opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) Vanderbilt defensive back Sean Dixon was suspended for the Commodores' season opener against Wake Forest on Sept. 1 for violating school and NCAA policy.<br>

Coach Bobby Johnson announced the one-game suspension Tuesday night and declined to comment further.<br>
<br>
Dixon, a junior from Tampa, Fla., had been listed at starter at cornerback on the depth chart. He has played in 23 games with one start last season against Eastern Kentucky.<br>
