Morehouse 20, Benedict 17

ATLANTA - Eddie Rowe ran 9 yards for a touchdown to complete a 65-yard fourth-quarter drive, giving Morehouse a 20-17 victory over Benedict Thursday night in the season opener for both teams.<br> <br> Rowe&#39;s touchdown, his second of the game, came with 5:14 left to play.<br> <br> Benedict led 10-6 at halftime but Morehouse launched a nine-play, 72-yard drive capped by Rowe&#39;s first touchdown with 5:20 left in the third quarter to give the Maroon Tigers a 13-10 lead.<br> <br> Benedict reclaimed the lead early in the final period when Tremaine Lyle connected with Rashidi Scott on a 55-yard touchdown pass.<br> <br> J.D. Washington ran for 105 yards on 22 carries to lead Morehouse. Rose had 12 carries for 61 yards.<br> <br> Lyle had 56 yards on 14 carries for Benedict.
