GMA laudes Gainesville's 'cultural diversity'

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Municipal Association has singled out the City of Gainesville as a model for other cities and towns in the state for cultural diversity.

The GMA citedthe city's integration of its growing Hispanic population into the city work force and the community, according to Mayor George Wangemann.

Mayor Wangemann calls it a "very significant" recognition because the city is "going the extra mile" in hiring Latinos jobs in city government.
