Red Cross to teach youngsters how to respond to emergencies

GAINESVILLE - The Red Cross in Gainesville will spend some time next week teaching youngsters how to respond to emergency situations.

The Northeast Georgia Chapter of the American Red Cross will conduct the Red Cross Masters of Disaster Camp Monday and Tuesday at its headquarters on Jesse Jewell Parkway.

It is for 9-11 year olds who will be taught how to respond in most emergency situations such as severe weather, fires, and floods. They'll also learn basic first aid training.

The classes will last from 9:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. both days and lunch will be provided. The cost is $20.
