2nd NE Georgian seeks GOP ag commissioner nomination

CUMMING - The Cumming man who captured the GOP nomination for state Agriculture Commissioner in 1998 has announced plans to seek the office again this year.

Bob Greer is the second northeast Georgian to announce plans to run in the Republican Primary.

The other is Gary Black of Commerce.

The incumbent is Tommy Irvin, a Democrat and also a northeast Georgian, who has held the job since 1969. Irvin, who is from Habersham County, plans to seek re-election.
