Perry gets three-year extension as Panthers' coach

<p>Georgia State men's basketball coach Michael Perry received a four-year contract extension that will keep him with the Panthers through 2009.</p><p>Perry has a record of 44-33 since replacing Lefty Driesell during the 2002-03 season.</p><p>"He is a person of quality and high integrity, and is an asset to the university's athletics program," Georgia State president Carl Patton said in a statement. "Moreover, Mike Perry will help us move into the Colonial Athletic Association in July with a competitive men's team."</p><p>The Panthers, who went 14-15 last season, are shifting to the CAA from the Atlantic Sun Conference.</p><p>The 46-year-old Perry came to Georgia State in 1997 as an assistant. He has been part of three 20-win seasons and three conference championships teams.</p>
